William Leach Splat & Column Shelf Clock. 10 in. painted wood dial with black hour numbers, gilt enamel and painted decorated center and corner spandrels with pierced decorated hands; weight driven 30 hour wooden works movement has an hour strike on a bell, conical 30 hr. iron side weights and brass covered pendulum bob. In a mahogany case with ebonized and gilt stenciled splat and half columns, carved claw feet and original reverse painted tablet; 3 part paper label with English and German language setup instructions and signed "William Leach, Easton, Penn". Case has an enhanced original finish, has typical veneer restoration, no restoration to the tablet, has a door and winding key; dial has been customized from another period dial to fit this clock. 32 in. high x 16.5 in. wide x 5.5 in. deep. Weight: 21 lbs.
