Description

Eli Terry Pillar & Scroll Mantle Clock. Original 10.5 in. painted wood dial with black Roman hour numerals, gilt corner spandrels and period blued hands; 30 hour weight driven wooden works movement has an hour strike on a bell, typical 30 hour conical iron side weights and brass covered pendulum bob. Mahogany pillar and scroll case with broken arch crest, original brass finials, turned side columns, cutout apron and feet; "restored" reverse painted lower tablet with scenic view of a homestead with black & gold leaf border, signed and dated "AMB (GW) 1986". Case has a dark, original and alligatored finish, 2 feet repaired and has a few repairs to the molding trim and veneer. Includes papers from Ken Roberts prior owner detailing the most original P&S clock he has owned. 32 in. high x 17.5 in. wide x 4.25 in. deep. Weight: 18 lbs.
